As I mentioned already on discord I figured I’d take an additional week off from comic pages work to help stave off some burnout I was feeling back on Monday when I sat down to start working on roughs. It’s that sort of feeling where you feel sorta disgusted and want to completely stop the thing you are doing. I managed to get over it and get work done thankfully, but methinks that might be a sign.
Because of that I skipped club on Monday so as to take it easy that night and not work on anything. But this led to a cascade of issue where I wound up falling behind due to an uptick in stuff I had to do at work. Most notably this one jump with a bunch of labels full of text that cause my work Mac to feel like I’m working in a pool of molasses. It fucking sucked. Combined that with my dentist appointment yesterday I wound up not getting much done at Wednesday.
Good news: I have no cavities and my teeth are doing okay!
But then I came home and tried to take a nap to get some work done, but Gene made it his mission to keep me up during the three hours I had tried to take nap. Now, I did manage to get a tiny bit of sleep. Maybe not REM sleep but I still had a dream! Except that dream involved with Gene getting poop on my desk somehow when I wanted to work and it was impossible to clean up for some dream reason.
Even in my dreams I am not safe from Gene when it comes to trying to get work done!
Afterward I went “fuck it” and got Whataburger. But as I was driving along I was hearing a high pitched squealing noise coming from my car. Cue me going “aw god dammit!” as I knew it meant time for me to go to the car mechanic!
Good news: seemed to just be the back break pads were worn and I got both replaced for $167. Out of all outcomes I think I got the softest landing.
But yeah, past few days kinda sucked for various reasons. Part of it being me overthinking and worrying about stuff like “oh god what if I have some issue with my teeth I don’t realize and it’s gonna cost up the butt to fix!” and “oh god my car is making noises and it might cost up the butt to fix!” I overthink to an exhausting level, especially when it comes to dealing with shit I have to in the near future.
Over on Kat side of things I had originally intended to get the storyboard and writing down for the Kat question episode for next week and then relax and enjoy this upcoming three day weekend. Except I fucked that up and instead have to rough, ink, and color 5 panels tomorrow for Saturday at midnight’s release. I’ll have to work on the Kat question at some point during the weekend.
THEEEEEEN once all that junk is done I’ll spend the rest of my time finishing the script for chapter 3 of Kat and get storyboards done for both Kat and B23. I’m down to one storyboard each so it’s about time for me to get some done!
Gene says hi, by the way. He’s by my foot rubbing against it meowing and such.
