What uuuuup!

Might be obvious but I had a lot of fun working on this week’s episode of Kat. Got the opportunity to draw a bunch of fun expressions, some Tex Avery-ass levels of goofiness, and it didn’t kill me to make! So yay! Do note that for the best experience you’ll need to read it on the website or webtoons and junk later to get the full effect of the one joke.

ANIME:

Started watching Magic Knight Rayearth after starting it 13 years ago and falling off after two episodes. One thing that bothers me is the constant use of chibi. Now, I like chibi. I’m a fan of Dragon Half which uses a LOT of chibi. But something about Rayearth it bothers me. It uses it so much at the drop of a hat even at times when I felt didn’t warrant it. Almost reminds me of a laugh track going “hey this is supposed to be funny so find this hilarious.” I’m only on episode 4 so I’m still way early in it and I like the look of it, but I wish they’d hold back on the chibi seasoning a tad. It’s overpowering the flavor. Maybe down they road they scale back. Guess I’ll find out eventually!
