A Kat’s (GOD AWFUL!!!) Blessing – 172

Emma has a passionate spirit.

How’re y’all doing tonight? I’m okay.

Texas Furry Fiesta was swell, though admittedly I didn’t do all that much outside of walk around some and sit with friends and chat. Didn’t buy anything except for a parking spot that cost me thirty godforsaken dollars. The internet lied to me about it being $10! I could’ve just gone and drive home, park, then taken DART to the hotel, but that would’ve been about another 45 minutes to an hour before I’d gotten there. I definitely would’ve done that had I not gone home and ate lunch with my folks (which was also swell outside a few political comments which happens every fucking time, but I digress). There was a lot of neat looking fursuits that continue to stoke my “I wish I had a cute furry girl fursuit” dreams that I’ve had since like middle school. But also fuuuuuuuuck some people were selling premade fursuit masks for like $2k-5k! No way I can afford that! Maybe when that final $5k of my student loans is paid off… and then refill my emergency funds again.

Or stop buying anime and save…

At least now I have people to go to a convention with. Before the idea was that I’d get a fursuit but then have nobody to go with to a convention so it’d just be wearing it at home. But there’s little to no room at my place so it’d just wind up sitting in a closet collecting dust forever.

I’ve always like Remimake’s suits and almost got one secondhand years ago but was a split second too slow and missed my chance.

In other news I saw the new Mario movie. As a movie it’s kinda mediocre to bad. The plot sucks, lot of the jokes suck. But as a Red Letter Media style “I clapped because I know what that is!!!!” movie it was fun. Basically just spotting shit from games I know. I liked the 2D animation they did for when Star Fox shows up and explains his backstory as to why he’s there.

Also saw A Magnificent Life, the new Sylvain Chomet film, which as a movie is leagues better than Mario. Fantastic 2D animation in it. It caught me by surprise that it was in theaters last Friday. I was looking to see what to watch for that week and saw it all the way at the bottom of the list. Pretty sure I saw a reference to Jacques Tati in it at one point. Basically it’s about an old real life playwright/movie director from the early 1900s in the early days of French cinema. Hadn’t heard of that particular director either until I saw the film. I recommend it. Here’s the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzm05nTpiXs

Anyway that’s all for this week! I’ll see y’all next time! Tally ho~!
