Saw Akira in Imax on Friday and hot damn was it awesome. I saw it in theaters back in, I wanna say, 2011? Back then it was sick but this go around it had a new 4k remaster and it was in imax instead of a smaller Alamo Drafthouse screen. The audio alone makes seeing Akira in theaters worth it, what with its booming music and shit. It was also the first time I had watched it subtitled despite owning it since like high school! It was neat seeing the mouths animated to the Japanese audio track!

Had Monday off, which was nice. So nice that I actually did no Bodysuit 23 work this week outside of touch ups on this page! Yup! I spent my one backlogged page on allowing me to stay in bed until 6pm. Worth it. Though I got another day off the Monday after next so it’s gonna be hell forcing myself to get up and get comic work done that day. Wish me luck!

In other news: getting work done on the Reina visual novel version. Turns out abandoning having to do buncha UI shit and instead go “what if I draw a bunch of comic panels?” has motivated me to get stuff done! So far I’ve got about half the pilot chapter’s panel storyboards done and I wanna shoot to having them all done and programmed into the game to get an idea on how it’ll look. After which I’m debating whether to keep going and focus on the prologue I skipped and chapter 2 and rework them to fit the changes I’ve made in the past two years or go straight into doing more final artwork for the pilot chapter. If anything I don’t plan to release it until at least the prologue is done. I’ve already made the pilot chapter available in written form already so I’d like to have new content that sets up what the actual story of Reina is going to be about.
