Happy Thursday everybody!
So first thing: that event I mentioned last week? Yeah, that’s been cancelled. There were some issues that’s going to require searching for a new venue on a later date, so sorry for anyone who was going to actually come by and say hi. It will happen eventually, just don’t know where or when!
On the plus side that gives more time to work out the kinks on the physical Kat webtoon device thingy. I got to play with it on Monday and while it’s super cool it’s also very first gen, noticing issues once put through the test and realizing solutions to fix said issues.
In anime news I started watching Saber Marionette J! I really dig it! It’s silly and fun! Maaaany years ago I remember seeing it at DVD stores and such but never really gave it much thought outside of going “that’s a stretched out cheek” when I looked at the box cover. In a way I let that color my mind thinking the entire show looked like that, when in reality it’s more subdued. It also helped that I’ve since watched VS Knight Lamune & 40 which had the same character designer and could see the look in action, where I went “Oh! Yeah! I can dig it!” The humor and action is a very me sort of work with some cute character designs. Also the really stupid world building of “Oh shit there’s only 6 people who made it alive onto this planet and we’re all men! We better start cloning ourselves to populate the world and build ourselves android women!” It’s dumb as hell but it runs with it and wears its sillyness proudly on its sleeve. I can respect it.
So look forward to me referencing it more in the future as I do with everything I happen to like and are currently watching!
Also I bought a $45 cookie cake from Great American Cookie on Friday and finished it Saturday. Yeah… Don’t do that. I was not feeling well after that.
Anyway that’s it for this week! Just a heads up but I plan to take it easy memorial day week so there won’t be a proper page that week. I’m debating whether to go with a pinup or maybe a rough silly little comic that takes less time for me to do. I’ll figure it out when I get there. See y’all next week!
