Sorry for the delay, but here it is! Things happen this week!
And now the blog post I originally had set up:
It’s another week! And another week closer to me going to Vermont for a few days starting the first weekend of October! Woo!
If you haven’t heard the news Tapas is going to be shut down. While I never used Tapas to read comics or anything I did use it as another website to host both Bodysuit 23 and A Kat’s (GOD AWFUL!!!) Blessing. It going down the drain means one less place for people to read my comics, of which I know there’s a small chunk of readers who DO read my comics over there. What I liked about Tapas was that, even though they hid it from search results, Bodysuit 23 was able to be hosted with minimal censorship when compared to the likes of Webtoons, where Bodysuit 23 can’t be posted at all. Like, sure, you couldn’t show blatant sex scenes and such but you could slap a censorship box over it like on Deviant Art and Pixiv and still get it up there. Goes to show that having your own website to host your comics is still the best means of keeping your work around with you having full control over it. Imagine how shitty it must feel if Tapas was the only place you were uploading your comic to?
I’m sure Webtoons will make things even shittier now with less competition around.
Goodbye, Lara wrapped up the past weekend with a finale that I thought was really great. Loved the imagery of flower petals in placement of blood. It was a very pretty depiction of pain! Draw This, Then Die wraps up this Friday I wanna believe, what with it having an episode delayed a week. I’ve been enjoying that one a lot as a webcomic artist and as someone who has ultimately decided to stay as a hobbiest instead of attempting to go pro. Definitely check those two shows out if you haven’t already!
Also this past Sunday I went to my folk’s house to celebrate my youngest nephew’s birthday, which was fun. Though my sister thought the party started 2 hours later than it actually did so I only got to see my other nieces and nephew for about an hour and change before everyone head home. God I ate so much pizza… But it was delicious!
