Burnout Hagupdate

Sorry but there won’t be a regular update of Kat this week. Long story short Hell Week wound up being a legit HELL WEEK Hell Week, mostly Wednesday through Friday. Some really large jobs that normally my supervisor is in charge of ended up on my desk with it being rushed, plus a bunch of other jobs that were also put through rush that really zapped me of my strength. I also wound up not getting stuff done, with it bleeding over into Monday of this week. Despite sleeping most of the weekend I was still mentally wiped and stressed, where I wound up leaving work early at lunchtime and went home and slept.

Of course then I woke up and spent 4 hours working on all the roughs for Kat as I hadn’t gotten any of them done during the weekend. And on top of all that Cooper has his summer annual vacation stuff going on so he’s severely limited in regards to how much he can help to look at stuff, which impacted both Kat and Bodysuit 23.

Then there was the whole Kat failing to get into the shortlist for the webtoons 2025 contest and the mindfuck of wondering throughout Hell Week if I’d get an email notifying if it did or not, and the slow acceptance with each day that I blew it before getting confirmation on Monday.

I only managed to get the inking for Kat done Wednesday afternoon, with my having not gotten started on Bodysuit 23 roughs yet. So while sitting there, my head feeling like it’s gonna explode from stress, I went “I’m done,” and decided to punt everything off to the next week instead of hurryingly rushing to get stuff done. This is allowing me additional days this week to take it easy and recover and focus on something meant for me while also being able to take things slow next week with the on ramp to getting back to work as I’ve gotten stuff done already, notably Kat.

It sucks that I wasn’t able to get it together and get things done in time, especially since the current Kat chapter is making its way towards the climax of chapter 2.

So yeah, Kat will come back next week with a regular update with zero plans for a break until early August when I’ll be taking another trip to Vermont. Hope y’all have a great week and I’ll see ya then!
